Rico León is all set to bring some much-needed diversity to HGTV through Rico to the Rescue — representing the Latino community. In this eight-part series, you can expect to see a lot of Colorado families having trouble with renovations, while Rico tries to analyze what’s gone wrong in current construction projects.
According to Rico, he aims to be an advocate for families who desperately need someone with empathy and experience to “turn the construction nightmare into a dream home.” He future explained that whenever got a call for help, his goal was to resolve the conflict between the homeowner and the home builder and to go above and beyond to complete the project.
Excited for the show’s premiere (i.e. set on January 7, 2023) Rico took to his IG to write, “My new show coming out on HGTV. Rico To the Rescue! Fresh current advice for homeowners and contractors alike!”
Also, surprised by the article Heavy did on him, Rico took to his FB to write, “This Article gave me chills! Didn’t know!”
Heavy stated that when Rico to the Rescue premieres, Rico will become HGTV’s only Latino host. Also, they mentioned that 37 primetime shows premiered or returned on HGTV between January 1 and August 31, 2022. That added up to 370 new TV episodes airing on the network during that time — more than any other traditional cable network — yet there were zero Latino on-air leads or co-leads and zero Latino showrunners or directors.
Indeed it was surprising that the popular channel failed to incorporate any Latinos into their shows.

They are mostly focused on commercial and residential roof replacement after hail storms.
Also, Rico owns Fire & Hail Restoration, which he founded in Feb 2019. The company specializes in fire mitigation and all environmental abatement in Denver and the surrounding. They are also full General contractors with a focus on the reconstruction of residential and commercial properties.
Besides this, Rico is also the founder of The Future Consultants. The company is proud of its achievement of creating over $250 million of business in New Industrial New & Commercial Construction Development, Residential & Commercial Development, Real Estate, and Insurance-Based Insurance Work.
Prior to all this, Rico worked as a “Restoration Project Manager Specialist” at Abbotts Fire and Flood Restoration for 1 ½ year, and also held the job of a sales manager at Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service for almost 4 years.
Overall, Rico has been working in the restoration industry for over a decade. From front lines sewage removal in basements to managing crews on 7 figure commercial restoration projects, the star has experienced it all.
As per his official site, one thing that Rico learned through the years of working on countless projects was that regardless of the project size or scope, each restoration project is not just another “project.” Rather it was a home or business that represented the livelihood of a family or business owner.
