According to The Sun, Ron Shirley’s son Harley Alexander died after getting fatally shot at a North Carolina gas station on 17 February 2022 after attending a memorial balloon release. The shooting reportedly took place on the front lawn and then several men jumped into a car and drove away.
Harley Shirley was pronounced dead at the scene, on N.C. Highway 42 and Cornwallis Road. Jason Shirley, Harley’s uncle, has said he is offering a $25,000 reward for information regarding his nephew’s death.
Ron confirmed the news of Harley’s death on his Facebook. He wrote, “He’s at peace now – waiting on the rest of us to arrive at those gates- we will be there soon Big Shur – and will always cherish the times we had while you were with us son —”
In Harley’s last video to Instagram, he was seen in a car with his mother Kristi Lee at the wheel.
On Instagram, Ron wrote, “Hey even though you can’t read this maybe you can feel the moment @thealexshirley so many people came here with us today because of you. In my life you were one of the funniest and tender-hearted people I know – in your passing you’re still making a diff making people smile and giving them a chance to come home – for eternity- the rest is up to then.”
Fans started paying tribute to Harley after they heard the news of his death. One fan wrote, “I’m so sorry for your loss Ron, to you and your family. He’s watching you from above, he’s in a better world now”. Another wrote, “I’ve watched y’all since y’all’s first episode and this hit at home. Almost like I’ve known y’all all my life.
