McKinli Hatch made her relationship with Ryan Taugher, who has a rough record (several DUI arrests and domestic abuse charges), an Instagram official in March 2023.
Several Reddit users claim that Ryan beat McKinli in front of her children on Mother’s Day, as disclosed by McKinli’s sister in an Instagram post that has since been deleted. Her entire family was afraid he would murder her. However, they remained together until a July 2023 incident, which ended with McKinli fleeing from Ryan while covered in blood.
Ryan was taken into custody and accused of domestic abuse on July 12, 2023. Scoop Nashville claims that the couple argued before Ryan allegedly slapped his social media influencer girlfriend while intoxicated. Prior to throwing a piece of frozen candy at her, she claimed that Ryan had thrown her clothes all over the home. The glass bottle he had just flung at McKinli broke across her buttocks, causing bleeding. She hurried outside and dialed 911, but Ryan quickly seized her phone and cut off the connection.
Thankfully, police arrived in response to the report; nevertheless, Ryan dragged McKinli into the bushes, where they were able to successfully elude the police. Ryan brought McKinli back into the house after they had left the area and shoved her into a room. He made her text her relatives to let them know she was fine after she had earlier messaged for assistance. Then Ryan ordered McKinli to remove her bloodied clothes, but she managed to slip out the front door in time.
Fortunately, the neighboring police heard the screams and located Ryan holding McKinli as she attempted to free herself as he rushed after her. Before Ryan was arrested, the cops separated the group.
Since then, Ryan has been convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a less serious felony.
McKinli has been gradually talking about the abuse. She published a TikTok video with a text overlay on August 2, 2023, “I was supposed to move to Nashville with my boyfriend two weeks ago… but now I’m moving into my OWN house and about to live my BEST life without him.”
On August 29, 2023, a tearful McKinli took to TikTok to tell her followers “The first sign that you see, leave. It’s not gonna get better. It’s gonna get worse. Don’t do it, just leave,” she said. “If someone isn’t treating you how you should be treated, leave. … If you’re someone like me [who], instead of thinking why you’re accepting that behavior, you try to figure out what’s wrong with him,” she continued. “Like, ‘Why did you do that to me? Let’s figure out how to fix you.’ That’s not OK.” “Life is so short, why would you waste it on someone [who’s] treating you like that? You know you deserve better. You’re gonna try and teach him how to treat you? No.” McKinli concluded.
