Losing her best friend Kalie is what got Sarah Wade to try her luck on Survivor 44 and it was the incident that prepared her for the competition. When her friend passed away she vow to pursue dreams and opportunities that her friend couldn’t. She has been a big fan of the show from the very beginning. She stated in an interview with Parade that her family used to watch the show every week.
She added, “I grew up looking up to people like Stephenie and Cirie and Parv and have always dreamt of what the experience would be like being on the show. And now, to finally be here, it’s totally surreal.”
When asked about one Survivor winner and non-winner she identified herself with, Sarah named Natalie (winner). However, she wants to play like Andrea (non-winner). She admired how tough and strategic she was. Sarah added, “I think she had a strong social and physical game. But that strategic mind and style of play is what I really relate with.”
When asked how people would pursue her, she answered “cute young gal”. However, once viewers get to know her she is assured that they’ll see her trying to learn constantly. Speaking about prospective alliances in the game, she is looking for someone “equally strategic and equally scheming in the way that I am so we can bounce ideas off each other.”
Finally, Sarah revealed that her brother told her she can’t assume that everyone is thinking about the game the same way as she does. The second piece of advice that she received was that everything was temporary.
