Steve Day is a chief pastry artist for the Boca Raton Resort and Club on the Intercoastal Waterway in Boca Raton, Florida.
Baking Impossible star started his training to become a pastry chef at an age of 16 when he got enrolled in Cardiff College of Food Technology and Commerce. From there, he went on to train and work at high-end restaurants and resorts in Europe and Israel.
He relocated to American in 1994 and, by 1996, he had already started working at the Boca Resort. Boca Resort created a special title of ‘Pastry Artist’ for him. Steve also created some of the most beautiful and original pieces to be put on display. A 2019 display of Steve’ covered 200 square feet of the resort’s lobby.
His hobby of woodturning was formed when his friend Jimmie Bernal, a woodturner himself, invited him to visit a woodturning shop managed by the Gold Coast Woodturners located in a rural area of Broward County. Impressed by what he saw, Steve returned to the shop the next week and turned his first bowl. “I was hooked from the moment I put that chisel to wood,” Steve said.
Within two weeks, Steve even built his little woodturning shop in his backyard.
