Laine Hardy, the winner of American Idol, was arrested after being accused of installing a listening device in the living quarters of his ex-girlfriend at Louisiana State University. After his girlfriend discovered the voice recorder at her college housing earlier this month, the country star was arrested.
The name of his ex-girlfriend is yet to be revealed. The 19th Judicial District Court in East Baton Rouge did not include any details on his lady-love on the booking paperwork, although the report does state that they dated between November 2021 and February 2022.
Laine apparently dated two women and kept their connections hidden from the public eye.

The singer is charged with leaving a listening device at his ex-girlfriend’s campus accommodation at Azalea Hall in order “to monitor her conversations” when they broke up, after dating from November 2021 through February 2022.
Per prison booking documents, “the victim advised that last night, while watching a movie with her roommate, [they] located a device, appearing to be a phone charger under the victim’s futon.” After googling the device, “she learned it to be a VR-500 Voice Activated Recorder.”
