Season 8 of Love Island in 2022 has many firsts. One of the ‘first’ in the show is Tasha Ghouri, the first-ever deaf contestant in the show who appears in the Mallorca villa with her fellow singletons. Besides finding love and forging a great friendship, $50,000 is for taking.
Tasha talked to RadioTimes and shared, “If I did win the prize money it’d be like, ‘Wow!’ My plan is that I’ll give 50 percent to the National Deaf Children’s Society – that’d be my plan”.

Tasha Ghouri On Love Island 2022
Tasha Ghouri opened up about her motive to join Love Island to RadioTimes. She explained that her dating life has been in shambles. In addition, it was a perfect opportunity for her to find “the one”. While having a great summer, she asserts that she was ready for a relationship.
Tasha loves traveling and she came looking for someone who she could “go on holidays and travel with”. A party animal, she could go wild on a night out. She told the outlet, “I love my prosecco and to have a dance – I’m always on the dance floor. I’m very loyal to my friends and family, I’ll always have their backs”.
Talking about her personality, Tasha added: “I’m the type of person to put others before me. They would definitely say I’m a nap queen – I love napping! I think they’d also say I’m inspirational because of my hearing and my cochlear implant. I inspire quite a lot of people because I’m really open about it”.
But that doesn’t mean she is less competitive than others involved. Tasha made it loud and clear, “I may have to step on toes but I’ll do it in the nicest way possible”.
Her sweet and open persona also earned praise from her fellow cast members. She also amused viewers when she thought Guernsey was located in Ireland.
However, not everybody felt the same way about her. Tasha was reportedly subjected to abuse and vicious trolls ahead of finding fame in the villa. She has been an easy target for bullies since she was 14. They verbally abused her and her friends calling them “fat” and issuing death threats.
Meanwhile, Tasha added: ‘Some of the comments were, “go and get cancer, you don’t belong here, go and die, go and hang yourself, you’re flat-chested, your family’s ugly”. It’s horrible things.’
Who Is Tasha Ghouri Dating Today?
Talking about firsts, it is the first time that viewers can vote to pair up contestants. Viewers paired her with 27-year-old Andrew Le Page who is originally from Channel Island of Guernsey. Upon meeting Andrew, Tasha voiced: ‘Where’s your accent from?’
Andrew replied, “I’m from Guernsey but I live in Dubai,’ to which she responded: ‘Ah, I like your Irish accent.’
Surprised Andrew said: ‘Did you say, Irish?!’ Tasha queried: ‘Isn’t [it] in Ireland?’ Andrew explained: ‘It’s a little island between England and France,’ to which Tasha smiled and said: ‘Interesting.’
Nevertheless, Tasha gushed that she was ‘happy’ to be put with the ‘cheeky’ hunk.
But, before heading to Love Island, Tasha dated Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle star Robert Van Tromp. “Robert is gutted after seeing Tasha on Love Island,” a source told MailOnline. “She ticks all his boxes and he had hoped to reconnect with her after regretting their breakup”.
“Tasha is the one that got away and he believes he let a gem go, watching her on the show this summer won’t be easy for him,” the insider continued.
The pair reportedly dated each other for only five months after meeting in October 2021 on a dating app.
“I wouldn’t say it’s civil. I think the break-up was civil but we certainly have different interests and priorities in life I think that has potentially hindered any kind of friendship moving forward,” Robert said on Access All Areas. He added: “I hadn’t touched a dating app for 6 or 7 years so going on that was madness really. Kind of in this jungle of opportunity”.
Tasha admitted having two serious relationships in the past. The longest one was five months with Robert.

Tasha Ghouri was born to her parents Tarek Ghouri and Nicky Ghouri.

Back in 2003, Tasha’s parents hired a lawyer to seek compensation for their ruined holiday and those of 300 other people affected after Tasha became sick from the hotel swimming pool. According to The Northern Echo, Tasha, who was 4-year-old at the time, didn’t eat for ten days and spent six of those on a drip in hospital after being infected by a stomach virus.
Tasha also has an older brother named Alexander who is six years older than her and had gone on a £1,600 Airtours holiday to Majorca, staying at the Alcudia Pins Hotel. They’d just been there a few days when Natasha and Alexander stopped eating and became terribly ill with diarrhea, spending four days in their rooms.
Tasha’s father had opened up about her online abuse in 2012. Tarek said, “‘My daughter was being abused online. I researched it and was horrified to see ask. fm allowed anonymous posts. I felt compelled to do something”. He added, “I raised awareness with the school because even though it happens out of school the impact happens in school”.
But, her parents appear to be divorced, because her father is married to his wife Stefanie Ghouri. Hailing from Munich, Germany, Stefanie is living in Málaga, Spain.
