Meet Al Schultz, Vicki Lawrence Husband

Al Schultz was working as a makeup artist, and it was Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence’s co-star on The Carol Burnett Show, who first discovered him. While there, Burnett observed him passing by her dressing room and focused more on his rugged good looks. His quick wit and no-nonsense attitude to makeup kept him with Burnett for almost ten years, though.

Al was charming, and the writer told her secretary that she wanted to have him on “The Carol Burnett Show.” Al met Vicki, his future wife, there and fell in love with her.

“You’d think he’d be a real moose, but he’s got a gentle touch. Who else could be so good in bed, then put your lashes back on in the morning?” Vicki gushed about her husband.

The couple has been through thick and thin that came along the way. Vicki had some health problems while portraying the enduring Mama Thelma, suffering from an unidentified ailment before getting treatment. In an interview with Closer Weekly in October 2020, the seasoned actress discussed how she handled it.

The pop artist admitted that it all began when she started scratching her tummy while walking her dogs. When she got home, it spread over her back, thighs, and buttocks.

Do Vicki Lawrence And Al Schultz Have Kids?

Vicki Lawrence and Al Schultz welcomed two children together, daughter Courtney, 46, on 5 May 1975, and their 44-year-old son Garrett arrived in July 1977. On her son’s birthday on July 2022, Vicki wished her son, “Happy Birthday to my most handsome, favorite son. Love you much.”

Courtney is a Colorado State University Associate Professor best known as a forest policy expert. She played golf for the women’s team at Stanford University while pursuing a degree in international affairs as an undergrad. During her time as a Cardinal, Courtney also spent time studying Swahili and writing about women’s concerns while a student there.

Her fascination with the people and cultures of East Africa inspired her to start the Western Kenya Education Organization, which has been assisting young people, particularly young ladies who have lost parents, in pursuing high school and college degrees for the past 20 years.

Courtney moved from Stanford University to the University of Maryland — for a master’s degree in conservation biology and sustainable development — and to the University of Montana, for a doctoral degree in forest policy. She worked as a high school teacher in Maryland and California after finishing her master’s degree. She taught Advanced Placement, or AP, biology, and said this role was a “dream job.”
