Australian-American singer-songwriter and musician Betty Who, real name Jessica Anne Newham, is not just great in her musical career. Betty Who and Zak Cassar tied the knot in 2020 and they have been married ever since. Yet that same year, she told Entertainment Tonight that she and her husband have still been waiting to have a big wedding because they want to do it right and do it fancy. She also told Pride.com that their honeymoon at home was “honestly so special and wonderful.”
The two apparently got married secretly during the COVID lockdown after a three-year engagement.
About their engagement, they announced it on social media on 21 November 2017, only to delete it later. It was Zak who had popped the question to his best friend. According to him, they both had blacked out and so he said they don’t remember what they said to each other at the moment.
The couple reportedly met when Zak photographed one of Betty’s tours and they began dating in 2014.
As for kids, the two do not have any. But they have certainly always been excited about the prospect of parenthood. Betty especially divulged to Refinery29 in 2015 that her business plan is to basically work really hard for the next, like, eight years and then go have a bunch of babies with this man that she loves.
To Refinery29, “The Valley” singer also lamented about the difficulties of dating on the road.
Betty officially came out in October 2018. When a fan asked her if she felt exploitative by pandering towards the community while in a heterosexual relationship Betty said that just because she happens to be engaged to a man does not mean that she has not found a home within the gay community.
Success really came to Betty with her second album, “The Valley,” which was released in 2017. It contained a cover of “I Love You Always Forever” by Donna Lewis and that rendition reached the Top 10 charts in Australia and even topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in the United States. Her most recent album, Big! come out in October 2022.

Zak went to New York Film Academy for a year, but he mainly developed his talent through experience. When he was 16 he took a serious interest in music photography, filming bands, concerts, live events, interviews, and promotions. He spent four to five years in music photography, but then got “sucked back” into the film world, because of his father.
In 2010, his major breakthrough in film photography was in the role of book photographer for The Kennedys. Soon, he got to do his ever-proud project, “2nd unit Stills” for the movie, World War Z.
