Did Justin Edison Really Go Missing?
TMZ reported that Justin Edison, Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard, who is a key figure in Tory Lanez’s trial is technically not missing. Los Angeles Police Department told the paper that there has been no missing person case opened for Megan’s bodyguard.
According to the updated report from the outlet, “That doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t accounted for at the moment — but his alleged disappearance simply hasn’t yet risen to the level of cops needing to classify him as such. We’ve also reached out to the district attorney’s office for comment … no word back yet.”
TMZ first reported that Justin allegedly vanished into thin air and cops are said to be on the case since 17 December 2022. The Shad Room that broke the news earlier reported that a separate source familiar with the situation insists Justin’s own attorney hasn’t heard from him since Thursday.
The entertainment outlet quoted Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney, Alex Spiro, as saying that Justin had disappeared: “We recently learned that Justin Edison went missing right before he was scheduled to appear in court. The LAPD is currently looking into his disappearance, and welcome any information about his whereabouts.”
ABC 7 reported that police were looking for Edison, although this report was based on the attorney’s quote.
Justin was slated to testify in Lanez’s trial, who’s accused of shooting Megan in the feet after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in 2020. Tory has pleaded not guilty to discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
Further details surrounding the disappearance of Edison were not immediately disclosed. This comes after the former best friend and assistant of Megan Thee Stallion testified on Thursday.
Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, could get more than 22 years in prison if convicted on all counts. He could also be deported to his native Canada. The singer-rapper has had a successful run of mixtapes and major-label records since his career began in 2009, with his last two albums reaching the top 10 on Billboard’s charts.
