BMX rider Pat Casey left behind his wife Chase Casey and kids when he tragically passed away in a Motorcycle accident at an X Games freestyle motocross track in Ramona. Fans are paying tribute to him and his surviving family members.

The married couple shared two children during their short-lived marriage. Pat regrettably leaves behind his wife Chase with their Reid who is 8, and Taytum who is 7. While he was taking part in a FISE World competition in Montpellier, the family had just returned from a family trip across Europe. Pat posted adorable videos of Reid and Taytum posing at the Eiffel Tower on his Instagram.
Chase frequently posts pictures of her kids online, and Pat’s YouTube channel has featured the family multiple times. Pat published a video in February from their visit to Great Wolf Lodge, where they took advantage of the waterpark and other amenities.
The family posed in front of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River in pictures that Chase published on May 29 from their trip to Paris. Chase disclosed even more sensitive information about her personal life in 2022. She joined Riverside’s Sandals Church and shared pictures of her baptism on Instagram.
Their son Reid (@reidcaseybmx) has already started pursuing his father’s passion. “I’m so excited that he likes the same things that I do because I get to enjoy it with him,” Pat said. Adding, “This is this is how we bond I guess.” Chase went on to add she is equally as supportive of Reid’s aspiring motocross career but gets nervous watching him compete.
During their appearance on the web series, the couple also showed off their plethora of pets. The family has 10 chickens, two dogs, four tortoises, and a cat. They jokingly call their home “the Casey farm.”
BMX racer Pat Casey tragically passed away on June 6 in San Diego following a motorcycle accident. According to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office website, the young athlete was only 29 when he tried the fatal jump at the Slayground Motocross Park in Ramona. “Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures. However, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene,” a statement from the office read.
“The world lost one of the baddest to ever do it. I’m so sorry for his wife and kids,” TJ wrote alongside a sweet snap of Casey. “@patcaseybmx will forever be remembered for the down-to-earth sweetheart of a guy that he was. #bmxfamily.”
As a talented young man, Pat swiftly went to the pinnacle of BMX biking. He won a medal in the X Games in 2012 when he was a ripe old age of 19! He then successfully defended his championship a year later. Pat “displayed his exceptional skills and daring maneuvers” during the competitions, according to DirtBikeLover.
Pat’s father, who not only built him his first bike ramp but also made sure he had a place to practice his drums, encouraged him to follow his passion from a young age. “I also remember thinking it was pretty f****** awesome that his dad not only built him a mini ramp, but made a studio underneath one of the decks so that Pat could wail away at the drums in between sessions,” wrote longtime friend Ryan Fudger on Our Bmx.
