There is no denying the intimate bond that has always existed between Zoe and her mother. However, Debbie’s health has been deteriorating quickly behind the scenes. The singer of “American Dream” is now pleading with her followers to pray for her mother.
In three TikTok videos published in October 2023, Zoe broke the news that her mother Debbie had fallen severely ill over the previous 12 months. She clarified that after her mother suffered a stroke in November 2022, everything began to go bad. January 2023: Following her mother’s hospital stay over the holidays, physicians told Zoe that her mother’s cancer had returned.
“My family and I are definitely not doing the greatest at the moment,” Zoe explained in a video.
“If you guys don’t know, whenever they mention hospice it’s never good news. Basically, a hospice comes in and makes you comfortable to die,” Zoe said. Zoe admitted that she has had a hard time processing this news, which makes sense.
As Zoe started to think back on all the great things her mother had taught her, she mentioned how much she enjoyed singing and how she had encouraged her to use social media to showcase her skills, which ultimately made Zoe a household name online. Zoe encouraged her followers to keep her mother in their thoughts and prayers. She underlined the value of prayer, saying that after sharing a photo of her mother on Snapchat a few days prior, several of her followers began to pray. It appeared that this had already had an effect.
“Ever since I posted about it on my Story, my mom has actually gotten up and eaten twice which is really really really good,” Zoe said
Zoe had left her fans shocked when she revealed that her parents are siblings “but not incest.” She explained, “So my mom and my dad, because like my dad and my mom Debbie, since they are siblings, it sounds incest but it’s not. It’s really confusing to talk about.”
As it turns out, Zoe was adopted by her aunt when her mom died. Her birth mother allegedly died because of alcohol abuse and because Debbe adopted her, she calls Debbe her mom.”
On Debbe’s birthday in January 2022, Zoe wished Debbe, “Happy birthday mom!! I love you so much I hope today treats you so well! 💕.”
