Below Deck Sailing Yacht returned to our screen for Season 3 on 21 February 2022 and its trailer has got everybody talking. So, leading Parsifal III back to the shores this time on the Bravo reality television series is Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew, some old and some new.
Before sailing the Parsifal III through the sparkling waters of Menorca, Spain in the third season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans have loved him, work, live, and sail in the charter season in Greece (Season 1) and Croatia (Season 2).
Now, read along the rest of this ‘Glenn Shephard Bio’ to know more about him and his on-the-water mischiefs.
Glenn Shephard On Below Deck
Just as Bravo TV portrays on Below Deck, Glenn Shepard’s life has always been dictated by the need to see the world. Early on in his travels, he was invited onboard a 50-foot classic sailboat to work as a deckhand and was immediately hooked and has never looked back.
When Bravo Insider recently caught up with Glenn just before the announcement that Below Deck Sailing Yacht will be returning for Season 3, he opened up about the yachties from Seasons 1 and 2 that he still keeps in touch with, including two former crew members that he has not “really spoken to.”
Glenn joked that he may be too close to one crew member and also cheekily called the Parsifal III’s first mate, Gary King, as his nemesis.
Sailing with Captain Glenn, who does not like to be called “Captain Glenn”, other than Gary King from last season, are their costars from the last chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae, and fresh companions’ chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, and deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.
Is Glenn Shephard Married?
No. Glenn Shephard has never been married before. “That’s kind of a private part of my life I like to keep private, but I can tell you I’m not married,” he said in a detailed one-on-one with The Daily Beast in May 2021.
So, is the Below Deck star single, straight, gay, or something else?
Glenn said, “I’m straight. But I have a lot of gay friends. I have no issues with it, and I think the community is fantastic. I fully support it.”
Is he happier being single than in a relationship?
Glenn candidly spilled “I’m not celibate. OK, I’ll say that. How can I say this? Working in this industry, especially for someone my age, there are some beautiful people, but they’re half my age. I’m not chasing stewardesses. When you’re constantly moving around, it’s hard to have a relationship unless you’re with a chef or maybe a chief stewardess.”
So, basically what we derive from this talk is staying in a relationship has been hard as Glenn has been a traveler all his life. But, then it is not like he does not believe in having one. Monogamous relationships especially appeal to him. He wants to be with the right person. However, he also believes that settling down, marriage, and big weddings are not his things.
So does he miss being married or having children?
Glenn loves kids, spending time with them, but he is not confident if he has the patience required to have and raise one of his own. So for now he is happy to borrow his brother and sister’s kids to get his “kid fix” and is more than “relieved” to hand them back once the fan part is done.
So, for now, Glenn believes having a wife and kids is a long commitment that he is not yet ready for as he has a lot of traveling left to do. And it’s been easy for him to stick to this decision also because the family he has now never told him to settle down and have a family. They have always been supportive of him for whatever he chose to follow in life.
But then again, it was the Below Deck Sailing Yacht boss himself who teased “Well, there is a particular woman that I’m kind of chasing” to Bravo Insider when talking about his recent Season 3 endeavors.
Last but not the least, his romance rumors with Sydney Zaruba are also not true.
