Michelle Burgos has been dancing her whole life. But rushing through tours and programs, she never had the chance to realize her dream, which was to appear on The Amazing Race with her husband Luis Colon. So, in 2022, she and Luis took some time off to start the next chapter of their married life and danced their way across the globe with The Amazing Race 34.

CBS’s The Amazing Race season 34 had a lot of changes. For the first time in its history, the competition was held outside of the United States, in Munich, Germany. Unlike the previous seasons, there were 12 teams (instead of 11) competing for that stunning $1 million cash prize. And not to mention, there were zero non-elimination legs on the season, which was greatly appreciated by longtime fans.
So, to be a part of this updated popular series, Michelle said that it was “seriously the most incredible thing (she) ever did with Luis.” And besides thanking the show, the dancer also thanked its producer Danny Love and casting director Jesse Tannenbaum for being a part of their casting and helping them get picked.
The last we checked, Michelle and Luis had made it past the first round.
On the other hand, contestants Aastha Lal and Nina Duong (a newly engaged couple from Marina Del Ray, CA) came last in the tasks as rolling a keg of beer through a series of obstacles, sawing through a log to get a clue, and smashing through a huge block of ice with a chisel, and were eliminated.

Michelle Burgos And Luis Colon’s Relationship
Michelle Burgos first met Luis Colon in Dec 2009, and fast-forward to 6 “crazy” years, the two got engaged at the Viscaya museum in Miami.
A year after their engagement (i.e. 2016), Michelle and Luis then tied the knot on January 3.
Recalling the wedding, Michelle shared that it “best wedding” she could ask for. However, it started raining 5 minutes before the ceremony (it was an outside venue) and cleared about 45 min after. Everything else was perfect after that.
Even during the 2020 quarantine, the couple never got “bored of each other.” According to Michelle, each day, they made sure to do 1-2 important tasks to keep themselves from feeling lazy. “We have cleaned, organized, played video games, cooked, worked out, had a virtual pool party with an inflatable, drank, laughed, danced, TikToked, watched Netflix, did challenges and we still have a million more things we can do,” she said at the time.
But amongst her all the things to do (during quarantine), Michelle’s favorite was their “date night” where they would dress up to pick up appetizers, Luis then cooked and they’d have a romantic dinner with drinks and dancing.
Besides being Michelle’s “ride or die,” Luis is also her “forever wedding date.”
