A new batch of Black men and women in their 30s and 40s starred in a new season of Ready to Love on OWN Network (premiered on 28 January 2022).
The reality dating show follows the dating journeys of a group of contestants who are ready to get serious about their love lives. The cast this time hails from the Washington, Maryland, and Virginia areas. Among them is Carmen Felder whom we are going to discuss in the rest of this ‘Carmen Felder Bio’.

This season on Ready to Love, the producers decided to put a bigger emphasis on quality over quantity. They took 14 single individuals, unlike prior seasons which were filled with 20 participants.
So, joining Carmen on this journey of finding love were fellow singletons: Sabrina, Kina, Precious, Tiffani, Joi, Ace, and DaKiya as female cast members and Clifton, Demetrius, Laverne, Tory, Fernando, Paul, and Wiley as the male cast members. (So far, Kina and Fernando were eliminated in the first season and Tiffani in the second.)
The first episode of the show tells the viewers the career paths and job titles of each cast member, whether or not they have children of their own already if they have previously been married, and likewise.
The very first date Carmen gets to go is with a fellow contestant Laverne. Laverne showers her with compliments as he not just find her physically appealing but also likes her strong personality. Carmen seemed to like him too. As they continue to share they are baffled to discover that they both were formerly in the air force.
The first episode goes on to reveal that they both have been married and divorced. Laverne, already divorced for 10 years, has two kids and Carmen is a single mom to one “amazing” boy. “He is like my everything”, Carmen stressed about her son, Melaki Felder.
Melaki celebrated his 16th birthday on 28 April 2021. Also, young Felder aspires to become the President of the United States in 2040. So young and he already has this fascination for the nation’s leaders.
Anyway both Carmen and Laverne seemed amazed by one another with everything out on the table. But Carmen also said she is “very excited” to meet everybody (other possible suitors) in the process. This is why in the coming episodes, she calls Tory Handsome, plays golf, and bonds with Clifton.
