Carole Edwards On GBBO Great British Bake Off 2022
In recent years, the series has started with a total of 12 contestants. After 10 weeks of intense competition and they are whisked down to the final three. In the same way, Italian-born Bristolian Giuseppe Dell’Anno was made the winner last year.
Talking about this season, Carole Edwards, like every other contestant, hoped of taking home the coveted Bake Off cake stand. But, even if she does not get lucky that way, she said her dream has anyway come true in the class of the 2022 Great British Bake Off.
Otherwise famous for her gardening segment on local radio and now Dorset’s Compost Carole, she embarked on her baking journey with a first birthday cake for her eldest granddaughter Maisie. Also, she revealed that she honed these skills using YouTube videos to learn the finer techniques of decoration.
Explaining what happens during the first week of Bake Off filming, she said she had her photo taken like 200 times and they were made to spend time with her tent mates. So, the show did not officially start until each of them got used to the location, and until everyone was making friends.
As for what it was actually like to be inside the tent, Carole said it was much smaller than she expected, but it had a familiar feeling about it. And because she had watched nearly every one of GBBO episodes in the past, she felt quite at home. Then, jestingly, she had that had anyone told her that she would be in the tent this season last year, she would say this person was smoking something.
When Carole got the “10-minute” call before her shift started at work it was hardest for her not to utter a word to anyone and carry on as normal.
When in an interview she was asked what is the craziest kind of Showstopper she would think of making, she said she would love to make an Orangutan, of a life-size.
