Chef Steve Hodge On Great Chocolate Showdown
CW’s Great Chocolate Showdown premiered on Jan 29, 2022, and it saw 10 home bakers trying to dazzle a “panel of world-renowned chocolatiers and food expert judges with their delicious, inventive creations.”
Chef Steve was one of the above-mentioned three judges.
The other two judges joining Chef Steve this season were — Cynthia Stroud (an award-winning wedding cake maker) and Anna Olson (a self-labeled Canada’s baking sweetheart).
According to CW, the final three bakers will take on the biggest chocolate challenge, but only one will be crowned “Great Chocolate Showdown Champion” and win the $50,000 grand prize.

He is the owner of Temper Chocolate & Pastry, a community-based pastry shop/cafe in Vancouver, British Columbia. Reportedly, the pastry shop opened on February 4, 2014, in Dundarave Village in West Vancouver, offering European pastries, cakes, and chocolates including — Salted caramel bûche de noëls, Bailey’s tiramisu cakes, Smoked sea salt, and Dark chocolate bars.

But Chef Steve never dreamt of becoming a chef. He was working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, while also playing football at Whittier College in California.
And one day, it just hit him! how amazing it would be to become a chef. He then went on to study at California School of Culinary Arts, apprenticed at Wolfgang Puck Catering and Porto’s Bakery until finally, he moved back to Vancouver to work as an executive pastry chef.
During his time in Vancouver, Chef Steve also trained with Dominic Jerry at Sugar Art.
From there, he headed straight to London to work at Le Caprice, then The Wolseley, and, finally, Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin Star Dining.
When Chef Steve wasn’t backing, he loved to hunt and fish.
