Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes created and directed by Joe Berlinger for Netflix is what we are talking about. It’s the second installment in the Conversations with a Killer series and that follows the murder spree of serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who killed at least 33 teenage boys and young men between 1972 and 1978 in Chicago, Illinois.
Premiered on 20 April 2022, the story is explained through never-before-heard archival audio footage that was recorded during Gacy’s incarceration, interviews with participants close to the case, and from one of the surviving victims.
For now, in the rest of the writing, we shall tell you about Christine Gacy, whose father John Wayne is the subject of this new show on Netflix.
Meet Christine Gacy, John Wayne Gacy’s Daughter
Now-deceased John Wayne was an American serial killer and sex offender responsible for the deaths of at least 33 young men and boys. Even after he died he is known today for his criminal records. But before all those evildoings and before he got caught for it, he appeared to have led an ordinary life with a family.
After graduating from Northwestern Business College, he met Marlynn Myers. Nine months later in 1964, he married her. At the time, John was only 22 years old. However, with his wife, he had welcomed two children into their lives. One of them is Christine Gacy (of course) and the other is Michael Gacy.
And while John has always been a household name since his crime, very little is known about his wife and Christine’s mum.
Four years after getting married, John ran into trouble with the law after he attacked and strangled a boy he had hired to work for him. And it had taken him until August 1968 to finally plead guilty to sodomy. He was sentenced to 10 years behind bars. But despite the 10-year sentence, he only served 18 months and was forgiven for good behavior. And in between (in 1969) while he was still behind bars, his wife had filed for divorce.
Following this divorce from Marlynn, John then went on to Carole Hoff in 1972. And like first time, the marriage started to fall apart after Carole eventually found out about John’s misdeeds. They parted ways in 1976.
Where Is Christine Gacy Today?
Christine Gacy, despite being born to a killer dad, narrowly escaped being part of his horror house as her mother took her and her older brother with her after the divorce.
At first glance, Christine’s childhood looks perfectly normal. But things sure were not normal soon, as a year after her birth her dad went to prison for sexually assaulting teenage boys. Since then, unlike John, Christine, her mother, and brother have remained far from the spotlight.
A little under a year later after Christine’s mom filed for divorce, she was granted the divorce as well as full custody of both the kids. But then, the mother of two later told the New York Times that she had problems believing that John was homosexual. Also, she said that he had been a good father; and that he had never been violent with her or the children.
Anyway, from that point on, Christine and her brother grew up away from their father. They never saw him ever again.

Christine Gacy was reportedly born in 1967. So, she should have turned 55 years old in 2022.
Her brother, so you know, was born a year before. And their serial killer father later, when looking back, had called these years perfect.

After Christine’s dad was 1969 executed by lethal injection and said “Kiss My A*s” as his last words on 10 May 1994, the name ‘Gacy’ has basically been buried, John’s sister Karen later said on Oprah’s show. And John’s children, Karen said, have distanced themselves even further from their father’s legacy. She further added that both Christine and Michael have rebuffed her many attempts to stay in contact.
But like Karen said if they want a private life, they definitely owed that.
