Sh’Kia Augustin is best known for her recurring role as the voice of Shonda on CW’s Black Lightning. She started the journey as an actor/performer in community theaters and local film productions, and by writing, producing, and starring in her own web series and short films with her husband/creative partner, Daniel Augustin.
The two got married on 28 April 2018 at a beautiful ceremony in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Apparently, Daniel and Sh’Kia also published/streamed their ‘how they met’ story on Hulu.
Augustin Productions was run by Daniel when Sh’Kia met him in her freshman year in college. He was a singer, actor, and athlete interested in turning his album into a music video series. So, they began collaborating in her senior year. They teamed up, wrote it, filmed it, and released it on their own, not letting the lack of money in the bank stop them. Sh’Kia recalls it was not easy, but they did it anyway.
They released their Cake: The Series in 2020 and Kinfolk: The Series another year. Sh’Kia respectively plays the roles of Ronnie Belinsky and Eboni DeVoe in these.

As for them together, she is proud that they are not waiting for someone else to give them permission to tell their stories.
Sh’Kia Augustin Education And Training
Sh’Kia started playing the flute in middle school and attended Florida Atlantic University on a music/band scholarship. She then went on to graduate with a BBA in finance and music business. At the same time, she also gave thought to writing; while still at FAU during her tenure as the President of the Black Student Union. So, upon graduation from FAU, she took TV Writing training at UCLA Extension Writers’ Program.
Sh’Kia was already performing in the marching band, pep band, and symphony band when she was a high schooler at Leesburg High.
Before becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, she also received myriads of other training (for improvising, scene study, animation voiceover, camera auditioning) from the experts in the field.
