Who Are Fani Willis Siblings?
Fani Willis doesn’t have biological siblings as she was raised by her single father John C Floyd III from young age. Her anonymous mother and her celebrated attorney father only had her as their child.
However, after her father’s marriage to Delores Floyd, Fani gained two step-siblings, Robert E Sumner and Julie Sumner. Delores had her two children with her ex-husband Bobby Sumner. The exes married on 27 February 1960 but parted ways in June 1984.
Robert E Sumner Sr, there isn’t much about them. Meanwhile, Delores, attended Washington, D.C. public schools, graduating from Cardozo Senior High School in 1956. She later matriculated through D.C. Teachers College to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. While in college, Mrs. Floyd became a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority in 1957. She later would attend and graduated from George Washington University with a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education.
Her first teaching assignment was as a classroom teacher at Charles Drew Elementary.
After 34 years, she left the DC school system and became a Social Studies teacher at the Presbyterian School. She would remain there in that capacity part-time for another 8 years. She was the President of the DC Reading Council and was named one of the Outstanding Elementary Teachers in the United States in 1975. One of her fondest projects was the Basketball Reading Incentive Camp (BRIC) at H.D. Woodson SHS.
