Jai Xiong On Spring Baking Championship
Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship premiered on March 6, 2023, and this time, they seemed to have hand-picked expert bakers from different backgrounds. Amongst them was Jai Xiong, who grew up helping the family food business for local Hmong festivals.
According to Jai, she was approached by the Food Network to be a contestant Spring Baking Championship. “I hope you all will join in watching me compete and have a good laugh at all my awkwardness and clumsiness,” Jai joked in an IG post. “It was such an incredible journey that was both thrilling and challenging. I am grateful for the opportunity to have taken part in this with a fantastic group of talented chefs.”
Also, close to the premiere, she reminded her close ones about the time she “had to cancel plans and was MIA for the longest” before finally revealing she was cast as a contestant on the popular Food Network show. “It was the hardest secret I had to keep! I hope you all will join in watching me compete with these 11 amazing pastry chefs,” she said.
The last we checked, Jai had won the first episode with a strawberry filling and ice cream-tasting mousse. Panelist Duff Goldman said that her decor earned her the win, as the piping made it look like the garden was in 3D.
How Much Is Jai Xiong Net Worth?
Jai Xiong garnered a net worth of above $400 thousand by 2023.
Passionate about cooking from a young age, Jai has always been fond of experimenting with flavors and having the creative freedom to explore the different outcomes of each ingredient. Thus, in 2014, she launched her home-based bakery under the Cottage Food Laws of Minnesota. She was attending Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the time.
So, after Jai graduated with an AAS degree in 2016, she went on to get her business certificate through Neighborhood Development Center (NDC) the next year and joined Interlachen Country Club as its Executive Pastry Chef.
Two and a half years later, Jai finally took the leap of faith and founded Amour Patisserie LLC. Initially, she operated her business out of a shared commercial kitchen, thanks to the high cost of renting a kitchen plus all associated fees. But having had enough, she started a fundraiser to purchase her own cake studio in Nov 2021.
Now, her store is located at 865A Pierce Butler Route St, Saint Paul, MN. Their specialties include wedding and birthday cakes. “It brings me joy being able to see people enjoy specialty, premium, made-from-scratch desserts. There is a special place in my heart where the beauty of cakes and desserts come from,” she said.
Overall, she’s been in the food industry for over a decade working with various high-end companies — became a pastry chef at age 23, and went on to continue pursuing that career and became the Executive Pastry Chef at age 25 at Interlachen Country Club. Today, she’s the proud Owner and Founder of Amour Patisserie.
