Josh Phillips On Netflix’s Last Chance U: Basketball Season 2
Netflix’s Last Chance U: Basketball season 2 premiered on December 13, 2022, and as before, it followed the basketball team of East Los Angeles College (ELAC). They were once a team struggling to win any match, and it was only after the arrival of Head coach John Mosley, the players showed the world exactly what they are made of.
For this season, a few new faces have joined the Huskies. Surprisingly, amongst them, Josh Phillips suffered from autism, and yet he made it so far!
Looking back, Josh was that kid who was enchanted by the greatness and remained in awe of them throughout his childhood years. Dreaming of making it big, Josh then held his first basketball in Edison High School, and soon, he was leading his team to repeated victories and earned numerous praises during the performances.
Though autistic, his stats were remarkable, and once he realized how good he was, he decided to make a career out of it and joined the University of Portland for the 2018 to 2019 season. There, Josh chose to major in Psychology.
Naturally, his talents were then recognized by his superiors, who asked Josh to keep pushing and look forward to NBA. So, with NBA in his mind, Josh enrolled in ELAC’s prestigious basketball program, and it was his best decision ever.
At ELAC, Josh played under Coach John Mosley from 2020 to 2022 — two complete basketball seasons. There, he played forward and was often the deciding factor in important matches. He even often gained praise from his opponents for his physique, technique, and balance.
As per coach John Mosley, Joshua’s defensive play was the key when they were in a pinch.
In case you didn’t know, John’s already in his 11 seasons at ELAC. For his unparalleled work there, he was even declared to be one of the 50 Most Impactful Coaches in Junior College Men’s Basketball.

Today, as of December 2022, Josh Phillips is playing for Grambling State University for the season 2022 to 2023
After ending his second season with ELAC, the basketball player received an invitation from Grambling, an NCAA Division I circuit-affiliated university. So, since he wanted to make a mark in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball and was encouraged by some of the professionals, he didn’t think twice before taking the next big step in his life.
Announcing his commitment to Grambling, Josh took to his IG to share his no. 22 jersey on Dec 10, 2022.
Also, reports had that Joshua’s already made a name for himself at Grambling State and is very much on his way toward a professional basketball career.

Unlike his brother, Phillips’ goal is to bring it back home and play in the British Basketball League (BBL).
