Larry Strickland and Naomi Judd had a lot in common. They both came from a family of six, “very blue-collar.” Larry worked in the tobacco fields every summer while Naomi’s father owned a gas station and her “hard work ethic.”

So, soon falling in love the duo went on to get wedded at Christ Church in Nashville in 1989, with both of Naomi’s daughters, Ashley Judd and Wynonna Judd, serving as a bridesmaid.

Fast forward to their 25th wedding anniversary, Naomi took it to an interview to share, “We might go to Red Lobster. I’m tired of Cracker Barrel. We are so normal. Right now, he’s out on a Bush Hog (mower) on the farm and the big excitement is he found a rattler last week. That’s how we live.”

Sadly, Naomi passed away due to mental illness in April 2022.

As per her husband Larry they “will not be making any further statements” about Naomi’s death. So, it doesn’t look like the actual reason for the singer’s death will be revealed any time soon.

However, Larry did once speak about his wife’s depression in Good Morning America. “Get ready to walk that path with them, because they’re gonna need, they’re gonna need you every minute,” he remarked at the time.

Also, in 2017, Naomi herself opened up about her struggles stating that she considered suicide while in a “dark hole of depression.”

“I was so depressed that I couldn’t move… My husband (Larry) and my girlfriends and Ashley would come over and I would just go upstairs and lock the door to my bedroom… You become immobilized,” Naomi explained at the time.

Yes, Larry Strickland is still alive as of 2022. At the time of Naomi’s death, he was traveling and performing around Austria. “I’m really looking forward to going to Vienna, Salzburg, and Bad Homburg this month. Going to be exciting to visit these cities,” he wrote on April 4, 2022.

For those who don’t know, Larry is Naomi’s second husband.

The Judds star was first married to Michael Ciminella, father of Ashley. The two were married from 1964 to 1972.

Also, prior to Michael, Naomi was in a relationship with her ex-boyfriend Charles Jordan, the father of Wynonna.

Reportedly, Wynonna believed that her father was Michael Ciminella for years.
