KMOV: Where Is St Louis Anchor Laura Hettiger Now?
After 11 years of anchoring on News 4 This Morning, Laura Hettiger disappeared from the show in March 2023. Obviously, this raised many concerns among the early risers in St. Louis. But their worry was for nothing for Laura had just moved her shit to News 4 Great Day.
Now, she’s reading the news at 9:00 a.m.
Explaining the reason for the shift, the anchor wrote, “I have spent all 11 of my years at KMOV on News 4 This Morning — getting up sometime between 1:00 and 2:30 in the morning either reporting the news, breaking stories, bringing you traffic updates, sharing trending stories and even anchoring the newscast.”
Also, she mentioned how her job was taking a toll on her family — getting up sometime between 1:00 and 2:30 in the morning while her baby was on the way. So, she told her manager about it in June 2020, and they were understanding. “I am so very thankful to the KMOV bosses and managers for helping me make a change that works for my family. This new schedule will let me continue in a career I love while also helping me be the mom Leo needs and the wife Mark deserves,” she said.

Surprisingly, they had their honeymoon in France, a few months before the wedding because that was the only time they could both get away from work at the same time.
Her husband, Mark, a Fremont, Nebraska native, is a cardiologist who was working at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for almost 7 years in 2023. He got his MD from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2012 and then completed his cardiology fellowship and advanced clinical fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at Washington University School of Medicine.
Mark is an expert in the treatment and long-term management of many types of heart conditions. His areas of interest include the treatment of valvular heart disease as well as interventional cardiology and coronary artery disease, including complex coronary interventions
Also, Mark was on-call for an emergency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. So, this meant he sometimes had to leave in the middle of the night. As a result, Laura knew that she couldn’t also have a job that required leaving in the middle of the night, as that would leave no one to take care of their baby.
Laura and Mark welcomed their first child Henry Allen back in December 2011. Things were different then. But now that her second boy Leo Allen Gdowski entered the world in December 2022, they had to make adjustments to their busy schedules.
Trivia: Laura’s second son Leo is named after her dad.
