Lesleigh Vann Waugh On HGTV’s I Bought a Dump…Now What?
Lesleigh might not be a renovation expert but alongside Brandon, she felt like she could win a war. Thus, they bought a historic property in Birmingham, Alabama, which Brandon labeled as “4,000 square feet of trouble,” and put their souls in to turn it into their dream home.
Fortunately, for us to see, they filmed their journey on HGTV’s I Bought a Dump … Now What? which premiered on April 30, 2022.
According to Lesleigh, they started filming for the four-part docuseries in 2019, and it’s been one hell of an experience. From “No to Noire” (but in a good way), Lesleigh has themed their space dark and moody. “We’re making the switch from a newer all-white modern home to a 1900s era home that will be full of dark & moody rooms…& it just feels so right,” she explained.
Also, from the baseboards and mantles to the balusters and dentil molding, the millwork in her home was just stunning. Lesleigh and Brandon salvaged much as they could (which was mostly everything on the bottom floor), and luckily for them, the handrails and balusters on this staircase made it through the entire demolition and renovation without any damage. Guess, the pair saved a lot of expenses in this case.
Joining Lesleigh and Brandon for the season were the other two pairs — Pancho and Kristyn Patterson (father and Daugther from Detroit) and Sean and Sam Kilgore (a couple from Michigan).
All of them were homeowners who tried to save money by tackling the overhauls themselves, but ended up behind schedule, over-budgeted, and exhausted.
