Barnwood Builders star Mark Bowe wasn’t alone on his journey to change the negative connotation many people associated with Mountain State. His wife, Cindy Lavender-Bowe was always there by his side helping the community whilst also representing District 42.

Cindy Lavender-Bowe and Barnwood Builders were school friends. They both grew up in West Virginia and shared the same buddies. But despite knowing each other for a long time, the duo only fell in love much later and went on to get married on March 31, 2003.

At their wedding, Cindy was slightly over 3 months pregnant with their son Atticus.

So, on September 18, 2003, Atticus arrived in this world and now he’s already a high school graduate. On Atticus’s 18th birthday, Cindy took it to her IG to share a collage pic captioned, “Happy 18th birthday to my walking heart. The way you feel and see the world is a gift. You’ve taught me to be a better person and I’m forever yours. Love, Mom.”

For those who’re here as fans of Cindy and don’t know who her husband is, Mark’s the host of Barnwood Builders. He is a West Virginia University graduate who founded his company, Antique Cabins and Barns, in 1995, now known as Barnwood Living.

To date, Mark and his crew have reclaimed more than 500 pioneer-era structures.

Cindy Lavender-Bowe was born on August 2, 1970. That made her 51 years of age in 2022.

She is only 5 months younger than her husband Mark.

Cindy Lavender-Bowe is part owner of Barnwood Living. She joined the company in November 2015 with responsibility for strategic direction and oversight of the company’s retail operations, growth opportunities, technology, and marketing strategies.

In September 2021, she then took the job as the company’s Chief Brand Officer and was working in the post as of 2022.

From Dec 2001 to March 2009, Cindy was also the VP of Marketing at Barnwood Living where she implemented an advertising campaign with an annual $80,000 budget. 

From September 1993 to June 2001, she was a classroom teacher at Kanawha County Public Schools.

Cindy Lavender-Bowe Political Career

Cindy Lavender-Bowe represented District 42 serving as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates in the State of West Virginia for over 2 years. She then ran for re-election to the West Virginia House of Delegates to represent District 42 in July 2019.

“Filed my precandidacy paperwork for re-election to the House of Delegates in 2020. I am so honored to serve the 42nd. Thank you for your trust and support. CLB,” she announced her candidacy on IG.

Sadly, she lost the general election on November 3, 2020.

Cindy Lavender-Bowe Family

Cindy Lavender-Bowe comes from a family of five.

Her mother, Jean Lavender (born: Sep 1952) is a retired Director of Nursing of Golden Living Center. Also, she was a nurse at Heartland of Charleston. As of 2022, she lived in East Bank, West Virginia.

Sadly, we don’t know much about Cindy’s father, Kenneth L Lavender (born: April 1952).

But we do know that Cindy’s parents were still married at the time of writing this article.

Reportedly, they tied the knot in 1970.

Talking about Cindy’s siblings, she has two brothers named Kenneth (born: Oct 1973) and Craig R Lavender (born: Jun 1976).

Her brother, Kenneth was VP/Treasurer/Fiscally Responsible Board Member of radio WTSQ who also worked at Multiple Ventilation Products. In 2022, he lived in Charleston, West Virginia with his wife  Erin Jordan Lavender.

As for Craig, he lived in Mars, PA with his lovely wife of over 8 years, Orla Lavender.

Cindy’s sister-in-law, Orla was the “Director of Mortgage Title Curative and Title Support” at Avenue 365 Lender Services. Also, she was the “director of title and land records” at Arsenal Resources for 6 ½ years. On top of that, she’s an attorney who got her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law.
