Noah Thompson has been crowned the winner of American Idol 2022. The 20-year-old construction worker from Louisa, Kentucky was among the three finalists alongside HunterGirl and Leah Marlene. He told USA Today, “Honestly, dude, I was just kind of numb”.
He continued, “It blew me away. I just didn’t know how to feel. Anybody could have won this show, you know what I mean? I just didn’t think that it was me”. He has a 1-year-old son Walker never traveled by plane before his audition.
“I just got shoved into this competition basically by my buddy, but I’m grateful for it,” he told USA Today. “I just didn’t expect this outcome at all. After Top 3 was when it really hit me.” Reflecting on the time of his audition, he shared, “I can promise you, nobody’s walking into that audition room more nervous. My heart was beating out of my chest. I couldn’t even look at the judges”.

Meet American Idol Noah Thompson Brother, Gibson Thompson
Gibson Thompson is one of the three siblings of American Idol Noah Thompson. Gibson was born to his parents Chris Thompson and Amy Thompson. Chris and Amy married in July 2008.
Chris is a musician who played for a regional Southern rock band called “Everwheel”. Chris was still making music at the time of this writing. He is 49 years old being born in 1972. Whereas, his mother is a graduate of Lawrence County High School. Later, he attended Prestonsburg Community College.
Gibson and Noah have been very close to each other. He is very supportive of his brother’s career on American Idol. In May 2018, Elizabeth died of a heart attack which led her to suffer from extensive brain damage. So, after a week of successive complications, her family made the difficult decision to take her off of life support. She passed away on 6 May.
Sadly, two girls had also lost their father Paul (a physician) was on the plane that hit the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. He never made it home.
More about his sister, Alexandria is a St. Joseph Central Catholic graduate who lived in Huntington, West Virginia with her son. Likewise, Brittany was happily married with 2 kids. Brittany turned 38 in Jan 2022.
