Jazmin Blais is the wife of celebrity chef Richard Blais. The happily married couple exchanged their wedding vows on 8 April 2006. According to Richard’s IG post from their wedding anniversary in 2022, he proposed to his wife in 2005 after a 10K run at The Peachtree Road Race.
Jazmin and Richard met each other when she was completing graduate school. She applied for a bartending gig at a restaurant where Richard was working as a chef at the time.
Jazmin told the Married To A Chef blog, “Being a part of it already, I understood the hours and commitment it took to be successful. I didn’t look too far into the future, I didn’t think about kids, marriage, etc. I think if I had, I might have been a little scared of the depth and breadth of obligation the hospitality industry requires! Richard and I always talk about how hard it is to be in the industry and have a family. It’s a delicate balance.”
But balancing work life and relationship has been a challenge for the couple, according to Jazmin. She believes that the relationship is a garden that requires attention. She told the blog, “We continually find success, new ways to work together, to communicate, and to grow together. Life has changed a lot since we met, whether it was marriage, children, or television shows; we have had to constantly evolve and communicate for it to remain successful.”
Finally, she also opened up about the best part of marrying a restauranter. And the answer is simple “food.”
In 2015, on their 9th wedding anniversary, Richard wished his wife, “Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be giving @Blaisphemy a happy 9yr wedding anniversary shout out on Twitter….” Likewise, on Valentine’s Day 2022, Richard wished his wife, “I always feel like we are the Avengers on Top of a Mountain @jazminblais Happy Valentine’s Day!”

“I had to get this pretty girl. I was this chubby guy, and I literally had to run after this girl,” Richard added. “She’d run two miles, I’d be sucking wind behind her, but I eventually caught [up to] her and proposed to her at the end of my first race — a 10K…And we’re still together.”
