Sarah Forgany faced complications during recovery from a surgery she underwent on June 5, 2023. Though her illness wasn’t revealed, her family said that she was in ICU on a ventilator.
According to the doctors, her recovery could take weeks!
“She is in good spirits and keeping the faith, but we would sincerely appreciate all your prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery,” her family wrote on Forgany’s official Facebook page.
Prior to this, in March, Sarah shared that she underwent a medical emergency in Italy that “cut [her] vacation short.” She eventually wound up being transferred back to the U.S. for additional treatment.
“First memory of Venice, Italy … landing in the ER for several days,” she wrote in the FB post. “Unfortunately I had to cut my vacation short and fly back to the U.S. to be admitted to a hospital here. I’m thankful for the Italian hospital and doctors who got me through some dark days but I’m so glad I was able to return to the U.S. ASAP to continue my treatment here.”
In a follow-up post a few days later, the news reporter shared that she was watching the Oscars live, which was the first time she had done so in years. Being cooped up in a hospital room for days on end, though, she didn’t have much else to do.
On March 17, she was then finally discharged and sent home.

Sarah and Jesse walked the aisle in January 2019 on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida — just weeks after the latter surprised Sarah with a diamond ring. The duo then went on to celebrate their two-week honeymoon in beautiful destinations like Iceland, Uganda, and Rwanda.
“I always wanted a beach wedding. Fort Lauderdale had great weather and great beaches,” Sarah recalled her best day.
Two years later, the lovebirds welcomed their first child, a baby girl on May 1, 2021.
Recalling the birthing experience, Sarah wrote, “most painful & intense hours of my life…. yet most amazing, spiritual & beautiful. May 1st… my life is just beginning.”
