Having grown up in the “most competitive” environment in America, Swati believes she has gotten pretty good at persuading people to cheerfully act in her interests and not theirs. Recommendation letters, winning elections, high attendance for all her events and all, she shared that because her entire life has been a highly successful exercise in persuasion, she can be the “sole survivor” this season.
A self-proclaimed competent, charismatic, and caring, Swati has been a big fan of this show for many years. So, she told Parade that she is prepared for all aspects of the game. When it comes to an alliance partner, she said she wants to have an alliance with somebody she thinks is a really strong player. Ideally, with a female, she said, she wished to play like the way Wendell and Dom did as a pair.
Like old times, Survivor 42 too, follows the same rule concerning elimination. Every week at least one person gets voted off the island Survivor. Swati, luckily, was not one of them as of the time of this writing.
Zach Wurtenberger was the first player to be voted off and Jackson Fox was forced to leave the show because his medication could lead to some negative long-term side effects.

Ashish Goel and Ruchi Goyal are Survivor 42’s Swati Goel’s parents.
Swati’s father Ashish Goel comes to the United States from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in India. He is currently based in Palo Alto, California with his wife/Swati’s mother Ruchi Goyal, and kids.
Professionally, the patriarch of the Goel family is an Associate Professor of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford in 1999 and was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southern California from 1999 to 2002, and a research fellow at Twitter, Inc in 2009-10, where he served as a technical advisor from 2010 to 2014. He had graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur back home in India in 1994.
Swati’s mother, on the other hand, is a managing director at Accenture US. Back in the day, she went to St. John’s Sr. Sec. School in Meerut, India.
As for siblings, Swati has a brother named Agastya who is likely a couple of years younger than her. He celebrates his birthday on the 11th of October.

Swati Goel is an Ivy League student in the army national guard. This was the reason, she was so confident that the experience she got from field training will better prepare her for Survivor 42.
Growing up, there was a big focus on education. In her introduction part on Survivor 42, Swati shared that a lot of people were surprised when a person like who was in all the science and math clubs joined the Army National Guard. “But for me, it was reflective of the values my family raised me with”, said the Indian-American proud of her parents’ upbringing and who she is now.
Swati was also optimistic that the “starving and freezing” she endured on the fields some months ago could come in handy on the CBS island.
As per LinkedIn, Swati has 3 years of hands-on programming and research experience with machine learning and app development at the Wikimedia Foundation, Northeastern University, and Stanford University. Not long ago, Swati also worked on misinformation identification on social media, having presented at the IC2S2 2020 conference. (Of course) she was also expected to complete her high school diploma in Computer Science from the prestigious Harvard University in 2024.
