After years of auditioning for the Survivor, Chanelle Howell finally made it into the CBS series for its 42nd installment. She remembers it clear as a day when her “colleagues” laughed at her for “watching and studying old re-runs of Survivor.” Guess, who’s one laughing now.

Chanelle Howell On Survivor 42
CBS series, Survivor 42 premiered on March 9, 2022, and as always, it saw 18 competitors including Chanelle Howell, traveling to the islands from different walks of life.
The co-contestants joining Chanelle this season were — Marya Sherron, Daniel Strunk, Drea Wheeler, Hai Giang, Jackson Fox, Jenny Kim, Jonathan Young, Lindsay Dolashewich, Lydia Meredith, Maryanne Oketch, Mike Turner, Omar Zaheer, Rocksroy Bailey, Romeo Escobar, Swati Goel, Tori Meehan, and Zach Wurtenberger.
Unfortunately, Jackson Fox has already left the show (unwillingly) because he hid his necessary medication from production until the day before filming. At the time, he was taking lithium to manage sleep problems.
Also, Zach Wurtenberger was the first player to be voted off of Survivor 42. The vote against Zach marked Survivor history as the first unanimous vote in 42 seasons.
As for Chanelle, she was going strong. And this might have a lot to do with the fact that she studied the show thoroughly. Chanelle has been watching Survivor ever since she was 10. Fascinated by the fact that “the people that you vote out have to vote for you to win,” Chanelle always wondered what it’s like to participate in the game.
Also, another fact that makes her so strong is, she’s been practicing to be a “Survivor” for years. She hired a trainer, practiced mantras and meditation, did balancing exercises, and went on runs in the cold. “I wanted to be prepared physically, mentally, and emotionally. The process was so long but well worth it,” she explained.
Besides that stunning $1 million cash prize, Chanelle’s biggest motivation for coming to show was to “show women of color that the Survivor was made for (them) too.”
As for her alliance partner, she wants someone loyal, and someone she can “bounce ideas off of.”

Chanelle Howell comes from a family of at least five.
According to Chanelle, her parents are her “heroes.” She acknowledges them for working tediously to build a life for her and her siblings. “I can never fully repay them, although I intend to try through winning the million,” she shared.
Also, one thing that she admits to having inherited from her parents is their “super-strong work ethic.” And for this very reason, she believed that she would win the Survivor.
Talking about her siblings, Chanelle has a big sister named Sonjai @zsonjai, and a younger brother named Will Sapp (birthday: Feb 26) @GuillermoGuap. They were close to one another.

Chanelle Howell Job
Chanelle Howell worked as a recruiter at Goldman Sachs while she appeared on Survivor 42. She is very proud of her job, especially when she gets to create a mentorship program to help young women get into professional spaces.
Before that, Chanelle worked in real estate and private equity at Korn Ferry from Sept 2018 to Dec 2020. Also, she has been a recruiting candidate lead at Bridgewater Associates from June 2017 to Sept 2018.
Back in 2015, Chanelle has worked in the marketing sector for the Office of Valeisha Butterfield-Jones and The Child and Family Guidance Center, Inc.
