At least according to the plot that was put forward on “Love During Lockup,” yes Tai Simpson and Rio AKA “Hottie” are still together. She started talking with Rio because her hairdresser encouraged her to because they had so much in common. And without a doubt, they hit it off immediately.
Rio, who is 33 years old, is currently doing time in Illinois.
Tai could’ve maintained relationships with people who aren’t prisoners. About that, she stated that seeing an inmate is nothing to be ashamed of. Moreover, Tai wants to break the stigma and it was time to stop shunning a good person who may have made some bad decisions in their life.
Tai Simpson And BB’s Relationship
But, Tai Simpson is not about maintaining only one relationship. She is currently seeing four prison birds at the same time. One of the other men she is currently seeing goes by the name BB, a 38-year-old locked up in New York. Talking about her relationship, she shared that her relationship with BB is mostly platonic.
BB told Tai that she deserved to be free. So Tai went on to cultivate her other romances. She is also dating another inmate named Donte. He caught Tai’s eye in the visiting room when she was chatting to BB, by then as more of a friend. She explained, [Donte] was gorgeous and would always wink at me while I smiled back. He had a pretty girlfriend, but, after I heard one of the guards say his name, I looked up his inmate number on the prison website and started writing to him.”
Tai appears to be very invested in her ways because she keeps files on the prisoners who caught her eye while scouring through online. She inputs information related to their crimes, sentences, and prior arrests, and since their information is available on the various department of corrections websites, she thinks it is easy to track them down.
And none of them knows about the others and, according to Tai, “would be jealous, like all men,” if they did.
About dating the inmates, she treats her research as an interview because she has to be prepared about who she is opening up to. Furthermore, she added that she keeps track of them all with the help of a vision board showing the inmates’ photos and expected dates of releases.
Tai shared that the biggest thing about dating an inmate is that you become every type of woman to them. She concluded, “You get to be a combination of a [caring] mother and a fantasy sex symbol. They need you because they crave attention and desire.”
Moving on, Tai is a single mother of three children.
