The New York Post reported Tiffany Santos, sister of newly elected representative George Santos, has been threatened with eviction due to unpaid rent despite supporting her brother’s campaign. She allegedly evaded paying rent for years on the Queen’s apartment the siblings had shared, but she still found time to donate tens of thousands of dollars to political causes, including $5,000 to the campaign of her dishonest brother.
According to court documents, Tiffany Santos is at risk of being evicted from her Elmhurst apartment because she hasn’t paid nearly $40,000 in rent since August 2020, according to a report published by the Daily Beast on Thursday. Despite receiving more than $30,000 in federal emergency rental assistance, which was paid to her landlords directly, she reportedly still owes the enormous amount.
The building’s owners ended Tiffany Santos’ lease in May 2022, five months after New York City repealed the COVID-era eviction moratorium. She and two other unidentified people have allegedly been squatting at the apartment ever then, according to the landlords’ claims in the filing.
“Respondent failed to pay the arrears sought in this proceeding, even after ERAP payment,” a lawyer for the building owners wrote in a Dec. 5 court filing, obtained by the Daily Beast. “To date, all rent has become due and owing … and has remained unpaid,” the filing continued, requesting the occupants of Tiffany Santos’ apartment be evicted.

“We ended up paying everything later, after she left,” Almeida told The Post, adding that he lives in the same building purportedly evicting Tiffany Santos with “two other guys.” Almeida refuted claims made to The Post that he and his ex stole goods from other tenants and pulled off smoke detectors to smoke in the apartment.
“The building accused me of a lot of s–t,” he said. Almeida refused to specify when his ex-girlfriend moved out and said he has no contact with her notorious brother.
“Honestly, I don’t talk to George. If he was here, it definitely wasn’t for me,” he said after being told George Santos was spotted by The Post at the Elmhurst apartment building just last week. “Even when I was with his sister, I wasn’t on good terms with him,” added Almeida.
According to Santos, his visit to his sister’s Elmhurst apartment was only a brief one. On December 27, he was seen bringing two dogs, some baggage, and shopping bags into the Elmhurst building.
George Santos acknowledged last month to The Post that he had made up a lot of his professional background when he ran for Congress, including the assertion that he and his family owned 13 properties and had been financially devastated by rent arrears during the COVID outbreak.
The New York Times reported that Santos was ordered by a judge to pay more than $12,000 to a former landlord who claimed non-payment of several months’ rent. Santos also admitted during the exclusive interview that he was a deadbeat tenant himself in Sunnyside, Queens and that he had attempted to pass a check that bounced.
