In its season 20, representing Germany was the Top Chef Germany season 1 runner-up, Tom Goetter.
Tom’s on the show to prove himself once again and of course for a chance to take home that $250 thousand cash prize. And he might just do it! The last we checked, he was already through ep 7 and was one of nine remaining contestants on the show alongside Buddha Lo, Amar Santana, Sara Bradley, and Ali Ghzawi.

Top Chef World All-Stars season 20 premiered on March 9, 2023. It featured 16 Top Chef finalists or winners from 11 countries in total. And as always, the show was hosted by Padma Lakshmi and the judges were Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons who obviously were joined by jurors and chefs from the international Top Chef throughout the season.

Tom Goetter flaunted a net worth of above $1 million in 2023.
This talented chef started his career working at Hyatt Hotels in Main and later went on to sharpen his skill at Steinberger Academy. After graduating with a master’s degree in Food Service System Administration in 2006, he then trained under Thomas Keller and his team in Napa Valley.
Thereafter, he traveled the world specializing in international cuisine with experience working at Michelin-starred restaurants, high-end hotels, and ultra-luxury cruise ships. By 2018, he had collected enough experience and participated in Chef Germany where he finished as a finalist.
After the feat, Tom joined the Scenic Eclipse, a six-star world’s first Discovery Yacht, as the Executive Chef, and he’s been working there ever since (or at least until 2023). There, he served a variety of cuisines, including Modern Asian, Asian Street Food, French and Italian. Also, he managed a whole range of hand-picked specialty chefs and a bunch of high-end machines.
“We have lots of toys in the kitchen which I believe other cruise ship companies are not using yet, We have dehydrators for dehydrating our own foods for breakfast and making our own spice mixes on board. We are using oven circulators for unique smoking methods and have an onboard Urban Cultivator herb garden to ensure we have constant access to fresh herbs and greens,” he flaunted.
But though advanced, Tom faced a lot of challenges because the company tried to purchase more or less everything locally, building relationships with vendors to support the local economy and minimize environmental impact. The menus, therefore, were dependent on what can be sourced in the region, prompting Tom, to change the menu rather than resort to flying in provisions by a container.
Besides cooking the best for clients, Tom also focused on creating educational classes with unusual themes using unique ingredients. For instance, he used chocolate making with cacao beans or finding uses for foods that would otherwise be wasted.
