Tim Miller, an author, activist, and consultant, was a self-proclaimed Republican “hitman” before he denounced the party in 2016. Later, he served as a Senior Advisor for Our Principles PAC, an organization formed to combat Donald Trump’s run for the presidency, and Director of Communications for Jed Bush’s presidential campaign.

During his time in the Republican Party, Tim served in various positions, including co-founder and executive director of the opposition research firm America Rising and forensic analyst for Mitt Romney’s failed 2012 presidential campaign.

In his recent book Why We Did It: A Travelogue from the Republican Road to Hell, Tim uses raw interviews, history, and personal accounts to detail the past two decades of comprises and decisions made by the Republican party that set it on a collision course with Trumpism, ultimately leading to events of January 6.

At the time of this writing, former MSNBC analyst was a board member at Defending Democracy Together, a writer-at-large at The Bulwark, and the founder of Light Fuse Communications.

About his personal life, Tim came out as gay in 2007 during an interview with LGBTQ Nation. “I saw a future of a wife and kids and a job as a top-level Republican strategist who managed to like to push all the gay thoughts into a box somewhere in their brain,” Jed Bush alum said.

Before coming out, Tim reportedly said that he was involved in a serious relationship with a female campaign staffer. Their relationship fell apart after Tim’s job in the First State was complete.

Tim married his now-partner Tyler Jameson in 2018 at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans. As per, their wedding was officiated by former Chris Dudley strategist Jake Suski.

The two welcomed their first child, a daughter named Toulouse Anne, on January 3, 2018. Tyler and Tim both took to Instagram to share the news about the birth of their first child on January 6, 2018, with Tyler writing, “Meet Toulouse Anne. Born Wednesday, ours now. Perfect in every way,” alongside a picture of him and the newborn.

On September 2, 2021, Tyler shared a picture of his daughter as she was to attend her school for the first time. “First day of school!#toulagram,” he captioned the post.

Toulouse turned 5 years old in January this year. Tim posted a small video showcasing the growth of his daughter on Instagram on January 4, 2023, and wished her a happy 5th birthday.

Tyler Jameson comes from a small family, consisting of his parents and a sibling. Tyler’s dad, Steven Kent Jameson, 68, is a physician at Monroe Health Center. Steven completed his residency and studied Family Medicine at East Tennessee State University/Quillen College of Medicine between 1992 and 1995. He also went to West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Tyler’s mom, Ann Jameson, turned 64 years old in 2023. As per her LinkedIn handle, she has been working as a Teacher at Monroe County for the past 42 years. She completed her Master’s Degree in Science at Radford University and her bachelor’s studies at Marshall University.

In 2020, Ann bought a 2-year-old horse named Bad & Bouji from Stonewall Farm. Stonewall Farm congratulated Ann and wrote, “Congratulations to Ann Jameson of Union, WV… We are very excited about the future of this handsome two-year-old sired by M-One Jazz!”

Tyler has also lost his both grandparents (maternal side). His grandfather, Cecil M. Hinkle, Jr. passed away on December 12, 2015. A veteran of the US Army, Cecil was also the owner of 5 World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horses. Tyler’s grandmother, Mary Ann Hinkle, passed away on November 11, 2021, at the age of 83.

Coming to Tyler Jameson’s job details, he has been working the policies for Mill, an environmental service company headquartered in San Bruno, California, since October 2022.

Prior to that, Tyler worked at Impossible Foods. First, he was Director of Government Relations there, and then, in December 2019, he was promoted to the position of Vice President of Government Relations.

As per Tyler’s LinkedIn handle, his first job was as a Staff Assistant at House Committee on Agriculture (2007-2010). From January 2011 to July 2014, Tyler worked as an Assistant Director of Policy at US Wheat Associates, and from July 2014 to May 2017, he was a Legislative Assistant at US Senator Heidi Heitkamp.

On the education front, Tyler has a BS in Political Science and Sociology from Shepherd University.
