A new dating show Lovestruck High is the first-ever offering from Prime Video and follows a similar format to many other dating shows that came before this one. The show is narrated by none other than Lindsay Lohan.
Viewers see 17 young and sexy Brits rounded up and carted off in search of love. But that’s not all, there is also a whopping $100 thousand for taking. The trailer of the show also flaunted the same thing other dating shows did: bikinis, slow-motion laughter, and a spot of smooching, but in an all-new twist. But the show is set in an American High School.
The Mean Girl star Lindsay spoke about the show, “here’s jocks, queen Bs, the nerds”. As a typical high school viewers get to see cheerleaders, singletons asking one another to prom, and the line, “you have been expelled,” just to really drive the theme home. But, the show also includes members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Viewers also saw a lesbian contestant in the trailer.
Alex Dean, an accountant from Coventry, is one of the contestants on the show. He will be joined by Huss Zalzale, Yasmine Rabeea, Sin, KT Franklin, Chante, Charlie Curtis, Max O’Dwyer, Junaid Ahmed, Megan Vail, Geoff Cheung, Theo McDermott, Jess Doolan, Dan Elward, Jody Williams, Basit, and Adam Jordan.
The first three episodes of the show premiered on 18 May 2022. The next three episodes are set to premiere on 25 May and the final two episodes premiere on 1 June.
On 23 April 2022, Alex posted on his Instagram, “Just a few school sweethearts out here reppin”. Sadly, he was eliminated in the third episode by Adam and Basit. Hence, Principal Nelson expelled him from Lovestruck High. He expressed the disappointment that he felt but shared that he was going home with happy memories.

In the middle of the homecoming event, Megan found Alex’s sexual jokes unappealing. She came to the realization that he was not the one she was looking for. After the blowout, Alex saw KT and engaged with her in conversation. They hit it off after discovering that they had many things in common with each other.
They even shared a kiss but since he wanted to keep his options open, remembering what he had with Megan, KT decided to dump him.
Before the show, Alex was dating Love Island‘s Samira Mighty. They started dating in early 2019. However, he made his romance IG official in late April 2019. They appeared a few times on each other’s posts after that. However, they ended their romance after 14 months in March 2020 before the UK’s coronavirus lockdown.
