According to Wendy, the act of her son was in self-defense. “Point-blank. It was all self-defense. I saw it. If I wasn’t his mother, I would have said the same thing – it was self-defense. He was chased by a bunch of mob,” she shared.
Also, Wendy revealed that as Kyle returned home, she gave him two options — either turn himself in or leave town. Kyle chose the former one and the two drove down to the police station (at 1 am) where they asked for an attorney.
“With Kyle, I know him and he probably would do it again because that’s the type of person he is. He always wants to help people. Even since he was a little boy,” Wendy further defend her boy.
But no matter the mother’s plea, a bunch of people were angered with Kyle’s action. Some even sent death threats to Wendy. “Your son is a white supremacist murderer b****. You and your family need to count your f***in days,” one text allegedly wrote.

No, as of 2021, Wendy Rittenhouse didn’t have a husband. However, she does have an ex-husband named Mike Rittenhouse, Kyle’s father. The two were married back in 2000 and went on to have three kids together — Kyle, Faith, and McKenzie.
