Who Are HGTV Mike Butler Parents?
Mike was raised in the construction industry and was born into a family of builders and artists. In 1984, Mike was born. He thus reached his 38th birthday in 2022.
The Perfect Vignette is an architecture, engineering, and design firm that the former New York Institute of Technology alum works for and may have even co-founded with his wife. The company had 12 employees during this time. Here, Mike’s role is that of a mastermind. To be nearer to their families, Mike and Denese relocated from Jersey City, New Jersey, to Boston in 2019 with their three boys, Ellis, 6, Felix, and Luca, 18 months. To make each project truly unique, Mike and Denese now collaborate with their fathers, who are both GCs and carpenters.
Denese and Mike Butler have been husband and wife since 21 April 2012.

HGTV Mike Butler’s dad John Butler hailed from Massachusetts. Reportedly born in 1956, in 2023, John is 67 years old.
According to John’s Facebook, he attended Lexington High School, Lexington, MA, and graduated in 1974. Later on, he attended Lowell Technological Institute.
Furthermore, in his career, John was the owner of Newfield Millwork where he worked as a cabinet maker. Starting in 2019, he has been working at Consigli Construction Co., Inc. as Superintendent-Field Operations.
Mike’s father would bring along Mike to construction sites throughout his childhood. But after college, Mike started specializing in design/build projects rather than following the traditional GC path. These projects ranged from minor work to Manhattan ground-up builds to finishing an addition at Gillette Stadium.
Meet Irene Butler, HGTV Mike Butler Mother
Irene Butler is the matriarch of the Butler household. She is the daughter of Lowell Wayne Sheppard who was born on 31 August 1938. Sadly, her dad passed away on 22 March 2017. Her mother is named Carole Butler.
Irene has at least one sister Margo Hebert. Margo studied at B.A.(Honour’s) Degree at Ottawa. She was a Former Manager, Marketing & Development at Arts Network Ottawa / Réseau des arts d’Ottawa. She was a Marketing Officer / Agente de Marketing at Hydro Ottawa.
After the show’s premiere, Margo posted on her FB, “So when I used to pick my little nephew up and bring him into the house because he was interrupting me and my nieces playing hopscotch, I never thought he’d be launching a show on HGTV one day! Congratulations Michael Butler, his lovely wife Denese Butler, and my brother-in-law John M Butler – wishing you much success with this adventure! Auntie Bug is mighty proud.”
Other family members of Irene include Dan Moylan, Shelly Grenier, Tania Menice, and Sarah Butler Moylan. Irene hailed from Ottawa, Ontario which is also the current residence of some of her family members.
