Meet Maritza And Santos Rosario Sr, Felicia, Santos Jr & Yalitza Rosario’s Parents
Maritza and Santos Rosario Sr. are the parents of the three victims of Lawrence “Larry” Ray who is the subject of Hulu’s new documentary Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult of Sarah Lawrence. The show, in every manner imaginable, lives up to its title. It is both puzzling and eerie.
After all, it dives deeply into how Lawrence “Larry” Ray ruined many lives by using, abusing, and manipulating helpless people for no other reason than a sense of control. Felicia, Yalitza, and Santos Rasario, the three children of Maritza and Santos Sr., were in fact among these numerous victims.
Despite being proud Dominican Republic residents, Maritza and Santos Sr. reportedly moved to the US in order to join their family in living the American Dream in the suburbs. Even though they happily welcomed three children in just eight years in the 1980s and early 1990s, not everything has been peaches and cream for the couple.
According to Santos Jr. in the documentary series, one important factor for this is that while the former worked seven days a week to guarantee there was food on the table, the latter simply played around.
Santos Jr. explained in the show, “I have two older sisters. I was closer to them than my parents because my mom worked seven days a week. My father; he would be out and about. The implications were that my father was married to my mother, but he cheats on her regularly.”
The resulting moral conundrum in the family, therefore, appeared to have a significant impact on all three children, and a discussion about it in essence opened the door for Larry to start manipulating Santos Jr. That is because the latter encouraged him to be open and vulnerable in front of the father of his ex-girlfriend.
In other words, the siblings were each other’s closest confidants in every way because the family dynamic was presumably not the best between the parents or the two generations. It is therefore not surprising that Yalitza, a pre-medical student at Harvard University, Felicia, a Columbia University graduate, and Santos joined Larry’s inner group when Santos did.
Unfortunately, as a result of Larry’s influence, every personal contact they had eventually crumbled to oblivion, leading Maritza and Santos Sr. to resolve to make every effort to reunite their family one day.
Where Are Maritza And Santos Rosario Sr Now?
By the time 2016 rolled around, Santos Jr. and Yalitza had actually left Larry, leaving only an apparently mentally unstable Felicia and “lieutenant” Isabella Pollock by his side. Fortunately, even the oldest Rasario sibling was able to break away from his web of deceit months after his imprisonment in February 2020, and she then made the decision to get back in touch with the individuals who knew the true her.
Since she hadn’t heard from her parents or siblings in years, Felicia began reaching out to them one at a time. This eventually led to a tearful but joyful reunion. We are so pleased to inform you that it looks like all five Rosario family members currently dwell near one another in New York, with Maritza and Santos Sr. being in the Bronx.
It’s important to note that, in addition to the three, Maritza gave frank, emotion-free testimony in Larry’s April 2022 sex trafficking and extortion trial. Because of the pressure Larry put on her son, she confessed that she had given her son over $150,000 in installments, much of which she had either borrowed from others or sold their jewelry, car, and home for.
Santos threatened to kill himself if she didn’t help him, which made her unable to say no because he had previously tried suicide while still a high school student.
Martiza is currently working as an office clerk, as her LinkedIn states. In 2018, she also launched a petition to save Galicia Restaurant from closing down which was running for 30 years.
