Kim Janssen and John Janssen had a tumultuous divorce that spanned five years!
As per court documents, John filed for divorce from Kim in 2006 —after 18 years and 11 months of marriage — and the divorce wasn’t finalized until 2011. Throughout the divorce proceedings, the duo had trouble navigating issues related to child custody, child support, and spousal support.
When all was said and done, John was granted full physical custody of their three children, while Kim was given limited visitation rights. The court order explicitly stated that there should be no “corporal punishment” of the children during the custody dispute.

Regarding financial matters, John was ordered to pay Kim around $4,000 a month in spousal support and approximately $1,000 a month in child support. However, it’s worth noting that Kim also paid John some money to support the children since he had primary custody of them.
The court documents also indicated that John’s salary was a point of contention during the divorce proceedings. If his salary exceeded a certain threshold (specifically, over $19,306 gross per month), Kim was entitled to receive additional support payments.
Obviously, John wasn’t happy with the decision. But his attempt to have his support amount lowered after the dissolution was signed did not succeed.
Throughout the divorce, both John and Kim engaged in a protracted legal battle, much like Shannon Beador’s own bitter divorce with her ex-husband David Beador. Shannon’s divorce concluded with a private settlement where her monthly payment from David was reduced from $22,500 to $10,000.
Despite the complexities of their respective divorces, John and Shannon later found happiness together. They started dating in the summer of 2019. However, in November 2022, John unexpectedly ended their relationship, leaving Shannon “blindsided.” They briefly saw each other after the breakup but ultimately split for good.
John expressed a deep love for Shannon but acknowledged that they weren’t right for each other in the long run. Shannon also admitted to loving John deeply but recognized that he didn’t feel the same way, leading to their final separation in early 2023.
