In the middle of Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley’s fraud drama, their daughter Lindsie Chrisley dragged her ex-husband Will Campbell. InTouchWeekly reported that their paths crossed when they were college students at George State University in 2008. But only a year later, they started dating each other.
Their family didn’t approve of their relationship but they were head over heels and continued dating each other. Three years into dating, when they eloped in 2012, the pair’s relationship with Lindsie’s family became stilted further. In 2013, Will and Lindsie became parents to their son Jackson.
Todd, a public figure, spoke to E! News in 2016 and stated, “I had a problem with the way the marriage started. Not just on Will’s side but on my daughter’s side as well”. He added more, “I don’t think that the marriage started out the way that it should have, and certainly not the way that a father would like to see a marriage start”.
Todd added, “A father has his dreams when he has a child or a daughter that a young man is going to come and knock on the door one day and say, ‘Mr. Chrisley, I love your daughter so much and may I have her hand in marriage?’ That never happened,” The level of respect wasn’t there”.
Meet Will Campbell, Lindsie Chrisley Ex-Husband
The marriage of Lindsie and Will took some irreversible hits. In 2014, they separated for a brief period but they reconciled before breaking up again in 2016. Then, in 2017, Lindsie again announced that they have mended the damages.
The marriage didn’t seem to work despite the best efforts from both parties, we assume. In July 2021, Lindsie confirmed via an IG post that she was putting an end to it once and for all.
“While one door closes, another opens,” she began in the caption next to a photo of herself sitting in an empty, unfurnished living room. She had a bright smile on her face while holding her son Jackson, 9, in her arms.
“It’s with the deepest sadness that, after 9 years of marriage, Will & I have mutually decided to end our marriage. We maintain the greatest respect & love for one another, & we’re so grateful for our time together,” Lindsie continued, adding, “We will continue to remain, friends, & be devoted parents to our son whom we both love very much”.
Lindsey moved into a new place and seemed upbeat about her future. She told her fans, “Personally, I am focusing on the new beginnings ahead & a fresh space with the move this week. Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy as we work through this challenging time for our family”.
The last time, Will appeared on Lindsie’s IG was on Valentine’s Day 2021. She sat in between his legs on some steps, as Will cuddled her. “At the courthouse. Make it fashionable & kind. 12 years. Can’t break that,” she began in the caption, noting how long they’d been a couple.
On the 16 June episode of Coffee Convos in 2022, Lindsie slammed her ex-husband. She blasted Will for not supporting her through the family crisis. She explained in the podcast that the past two weeks were the roughest and “most uncertain time that [she has] ever felt in [her] life”.
In her own words, “And normally Will is very good about, if we have something come up and I give all the details or whatever, it’s like, ‘It’s OK, we’ll switch.’ But in this situation, I definitely feel that there was a little advantage taken”.
She explained that Will wasn’t interested to switch with her through this process because of her history with Will and Will’s relationship with her parents.
“As you guys probably know, my parents were convicted last week and that was on Tuesday. And I had sent Will a text just to let him know, like, ‘Hey, by the way, this is what just happened. And please keep the TVs off. Please keep the radio off.’ That’s it,” Lindsie told. “I was with Will for 12 years, and in his family for 12 years, very closely in his family. And not one single person, including my ex-husband, reached out to acknowledge anything”.
She ended with, “As angry as I want it to be, it truly gave me a sense of, I felt validated. Not that I needed more validation, but I did feel validated in the entire divorce process and why I am where I am today”.
