Announcing his sudden departure from WDIV station, weatherman Brandon Roux wrote, “Do you like music? Tune into Local 4 News for… my Swan Song. My last hour on air at WDIV is underway Sunday morning. These are the words we use to say goodbye,” on Facebook on July 2, 2023.
On his final day at WDIV, the Local 4 news dedicated a tribute to the renowned weatherman. “Brandon Roux has been an integral part of the 4Warn Weather Team, always working to make sure Metro Detroit viewers are informed and prepared for what lies ahead. Local 4 wishes Brandon Roux all the best in his next opportunity,” ClickOnDetroit wrote.
The winner of the 2009 Associated Press Award for Outstanding Weather Operation is yet to announce his future plans for his career. However, considering his glorious past, he will definitely move on to bigger projects.
Talking about Brandon’s meteorology career, he was a Broadcast Meteorologist at WBNS in Columbus, Ohio before he began his stint at WDIV in 2010. Furthermore, Brandon has also reported for WFTC in Minneapolis, Minn., KTNV in Las Vegas, Nev., and KIVI in Boise, Idaho.
Workaholic Brandon has been married to his wife, Antonietta Pennella, for over 25 years. On May 16, 2015, Brandon took to Facebook to share some pictures of him, Antonietta, and their kids for the celebration of the 17th wedding anniversary between him and his wife.

On Gianna’s 11th birthday, Brandon shared some pictures from the celebration party on Facebook and captioned it, “Help me wish my daughter, Gianna, a Happy 11th Birthday 🎉 She’s as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. She is a junior at Grosse Pointe North and an intern for North Pointe. Gianna has been on Grosse Pointe North’s varsity Tennis team since her freshman year.
