Ilze earned her degree in Psychology from McGill University in Canada in 1990. She earned her MBA in Marketing, Strategy from Yale School of Management.

Her husband Yucel is a Turkish-born American artist based in New York. He has been living in the states for over 30 years. He is currently serving as the executive creative director of Avrett Free Ginsberg since 2015.

Yucel is also the founder/president/chief creative officer of Reason-Y. He had previously worked for Blue Flame as The Creative Director and art director at Lotas Minard Patton McIver from 1992 to 1999.

Yücel’s award-winning campaigns have aired around the world, including for brands such as Van Clef Arpels, Tumi, Natori, Nike, Bacardi, Dewar’s, and Ciroc. Also, an accomplished illustrator and photographer, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Departures magazine has published his work.

He earned his MFA in Graphic Design from Marmara University and MSC in Communication Design from Pratt Institute.
