Meet Kimbrady Carriker, Philly Mass Shooting Suspect
On the eve of Independence Day 2023, in the area of 56th Street and Chester Avenue in the southwestern part of the city, a suspect indiscriminately shot people with an assault rifle. After people called 911 to report a shooting and others flagged down officers, they found gunshot victims at the scene and as they began to put the victims in their patrol cars they heard more gunfire. Thus, the officers then ran towards the sound and found Kimbrady Carriker.
According to the officers, they had to chase and corner Kimbrady in the rear alley of 1600 Frazier Street. He was wearing a bulletproof vest and had multiple magazines, a police scanner, an AR-style rifle, and a handgun. However, they couldn’t establish a connection between the victims and the shooter, and investigators didn’t know the motive for the gunfire.
As for the casualties, reports stated that a 2-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were shot and wounded, and another 2-year-old boy and a 33-year-old woman were injured by flying glass.
“What happened last night in our Kingsessing neighborhood was unimaginably disgusting and horrifying,” Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said in a news conference.
On the other hand, Kimbrady’s neighbors were shocked that he was accused of this violence. “He speaks to everybody. He helps out with everybody,” one neighbor said. “If you parked on the curb and the cop comes, he’ll knock on your door and tell you like they’re about to give you a ticket or whatever.”

A self-described “Torn Angel,” Kimbrady was the owner of LDS Frame Works. He is also a former director of IT and Development who attended Lincoln Technical Institute and Cittone Institute. Also, he attended Bonita Vista Senior High School in Chula Vista, San Diego County, California.

When Kimbrady wasn’t working, he loved writing about Gun Rights & Anti-Violence Programs on Facebook (now removed). His FB profile picture showed Keanu Reeves in the “Matrix” movie, and his top post, from the day before the mass shooting, was a YouTube video that showed a gun.
Also, he had recently shared an article about a Philadelphia anti-violence initiative. “I found this on NewsBreak: Philly anti-violence grant program shows promising results, despite some hiccups, new evaluation shows,” Carriker wrote in that post.
It’s clear that he hated Joe Biden and his movement to take away gun rights, and is a big Donald Trump supporter.
He even shared a video of Biden and wrote, “This y’all president. We said 2A defends our rights. Now it’s god save the queen while he attempts to take our arms.” Sharing another video headlined, “Biden turns red coat, in latest gun grabbing speech,” he wrote, “I told you he wanted your rights. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN SAYS BIDEN.”
Furthermore, he was vocal about the Black Lives Matter movement and supported workers who protested in the Strike For Black Lives in July 2020.
With this being said, Kimbrady certainly doesn’t have the best history to stand for the cause. Before the 2023 mass killing accusation, has faced misdemeanor drug and gun charges from 2003, which led to probation.
Is Kimbrady Carriker Married?
Kimbrady Carriker was likely single in 2023.
But from 2021 to 2022, he lived with Tina Rossette, then 47, and her daughter Cianni Rosette, then 22, who described their relationship to be that of only roommates.
Tina said that Kimbrady was “really smart, intelligent, creative,” and interested in computers. “I didn’t even know he had a gun,” she shared before adding that he had “an aggressive approach to some things in life.”
On the other hand, Cianni confessed that Kimbrady showed her a handgun. She also revealed that she had rejected Kimbrady for a romantic relationship and that he was in a “dark place.”
