Todd and Chef Erin French were married from 2006 to 2013. During which the duo opened the first Lost Kitchen in late 2011 out of their apartment in Belfast, Maine.

No wonder, Chef Erin then developed an addiction to Xanax and Ambien. “I was hoarding them, trying to get multiple prescriptions from one doctor or another because it was the only thing that made me feel OK,” Chef Erin recalled.
The talented chef was then sent to rehab, and by 2013, just when she was on her way to getting sober, she learned that her husband Todd secretly closed the restaurant and even changed the locks. And that was an “awakening moment” for the star — sort of like “when you realize all your fears were true.”
The pair then filed for a divorce, which eventually forced Chef Erin to move into a cabin on her parents’ land.
What Has Chef Erin French Shared About Her First Husband?
Chef Erin French said that she wanted to believe that her first husband was a “good person,” and maybe he had a reason for closing the restaurant. But that wasn’t the case.
Aside from the ugly divorce, the duo even had to fight for the custody of Chef Erin’s then eight-year-old son from a previous relationship named Jaim @jjfrench1228.
“One flip of a lock and I lost everything,” Chef Erin recalled.
She even once considered suicide after losing her job, apartment, and even her son.
But Chef Erin is a fighter! She then reopened the restaurant, serving pop-up dinners in an Airstream, and over time she landed her own Amazon Prime show called The Lost Kitchen.
In case you don’t know, The Lost Kitchen revolves around Chef Erin’s everyday life, and not just her ordeals within resultant but also outside of it.
So, where does Chef Erin’s passion for food come from? Well, besides her post-motivation after the divorce, the star inherited the skill of cooking from her parents who owned a diner. Also, it was her parents who helped her with taking care of her firstborn.
But rather than labeling herself a chef, Erin prefers to call herself more of a host. “I love caring for people. It’s the setting of the table. It’s getting the lights just right. Watching everyone have that experience is my greatest joy,” she explained.
Did you know: The Lost Kitchen relies on mostly female-powered staff. Yes, before reopening the restaurant, she asked local female farmers from her area to help source the produce that ends up on the menu.

Todd French is still working as a designer and builder now. Sadly, we’ve no idea if he ever got remarried.
However, we do know that Chef Erin is now (as of 2022) happily married to her husband Michael Dutton. The two got married on August 24, 2018, after meeting on a dating site.

Talking a little about Chef Erin’s second husband, Michael Dutton is the co-founder of 6ccMedia, and media advisor of The Lost Kitchen. However, the guy initially started his career as a content producer working for Broadway Video and VH1.
