Oliver Johnson On Port Protection
Oliver Johnson is one of the casts of Life Below Zero: Port Protection. The show is a continuation of Port Protection Alaska in the National Geographic channel which premiered in 2015. For the 2022 season, viewers get to see Oliver along with Mary Miller, Tim ‘Curly’ Leach, Sam Carlson, Matt Carlson, Stuart Andrews, David Squibb, Morgan Turcott, and Carl Hernandez.
Whereas old casts such as Hans and Timbi Porter and Amanda Makar have left the show. But, the real tragedy for the fans of the show wasn’t to see the casts quit the show but lose the cast. On 19 March 2021, it was announced that the show’s star Gary Muehlberger died who had lived in Alaska for more than 39 years.
Gary didn’t die of the challenging life in Alaska but is believed to have died because of the fire in his home.
Coming back to Oliver, he has appeared in three episodes of the show in 2021. Besides their skillsets, they also have to rely on their boat because it is their means of travel and trade. So, maintenance of the boat is also a must for Oliver. And then there is their floating house which they need to save by measuring anchor lines.

No, Oliver Johnson isn’t married yet but the day will come when he will say his “I Do” surrounding by his family and friends. And why is that you ask? Because he has a passion for living off-grid in Port Protection which will be extremely difficult without a companion.
Oliver is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend Breanna Miethe. Two of them have been living in Port Protection for two years at the time of filming the show. They have known each other since middle school. They met each other in eighth grade in their hometown but they didn’t like each other very much initially.
Now, they have grown on each other and have been together for over 12 years. According to Breanna’s Facebook, they have been in a relationship since 2008.
Breanna and Oliver moved to Port Protection were to be able to own their place at their age. Now they are co-dependent with each other and rely on Oliver’s skills of hunting and fishing. But, Breanna isn’t among the girls who make up the demography of the stereotype that “women in south-east Alaska not being able to keep up with men”.
Breanna is very skilled herself and can do anything a guy can do.
But there is certainly a challenge living in a floating house, that is being surrounded by water. Because of that, it gets cold so they need to always keep heating the house. Oliver had an accident and tore his hamstring. So, he tries to help as much as he can but everything has fallen on the lap of Breanna and she understood Oliver’s role in that place.
Breanna, before moving to Port Protection, worked in different places. She worked as Retail Sales Clerk at Annie Kaills Gallery, Andrew’s Marina Fuel Dock, Front Desk Receptionist at Valley Chiropractic Clinic, Art Sales at Alaskan Marine Artist-Brenda Schwartz-Yeager, DECKHAND at F/V Jenna Marie, and DECKHAND at Commercial fishing.
